Franconia Notch is a site-specific installation with an analog sound composition that uses vibrating piano strings modulated by the glass and granite amplified by the space only. 3 channel animation projection depicts 3D animated granite rocks that modulate sound within the installation. The analog vibrating sound composition is amplified by the architecture of the space: it travels through the pipes and balanced drywall pieces that are held only by pipes at odd angles. Drywall pieces, glass and granite are held by gravity and pressure only. Inspired by the movement of the glacier and the sonic timelessness versus our attempts to contain and enclose nature.
